You’ve already seen this poster. Now meet the gal behind it. Audrey Hotchkiss, owner of Little Eye Designs, met up with us for a cup of joe to discuss the exciting Big Thaw event coming to Mayo Street Arts on April 16.

It all started with etsy - specifically a conversation on the Maine etsy community boards between Audrey, Malaika Picard and Shanna Tice. “We started talking about wanting to do a craft fair so I thought, well then let’s plan it,” says Audrey.

Over 60 applications rolled in for less than 40 spots. Audrey gave up her own spot to sell just so she could run the event - and let just one more vendor get a chance to show their goods. (Though she did show us a few of her new pieces that will hopefully be on sale in her etsy shop SOON. We love the animal magnets pulled from the poster.)

The poster was illustrated by Meagan Anderson and printed by Kris Johnsen of Emblem Studio. Like it? You can buy the limited edition posters in Audrey’s etsy shop.

We’ll be featuring some of the show vendors over the coming weeks. Mark your calendars - they’ll be lots of fresh faces to the Portland craft and vintage scene that we are uber excited about.
