I ran into author Ellen Sue Stern on Exchange Street while she was waiting for her taxi. (She’s been on Oprah!) She was in town promoting The American Widow Project with Taryn Davis, who is a top ten finalist for the CNN Heroes Award. Her candor was just as colorful as her booties, which were a vacation find from Mexico. 

One part lost boy and one part Harry Potter spotted playing the banjo on the corner of Fore and Exchange. I really dug the hat, but not as much as the knee patches.

This is David. He is adorable. He was spotted closing up Treehouse Toys and about to head off on his ten-speed when we forced him to disembark. Every man can pull off skinny suspenders but few dare. It’s an effortless way to elevate jeans and a button-up. And his bracelet? Made by Mom. Cue the awww’s.
