I stopped by Michelle Estell Jewelry’s table on a sunny Saturday morning to do some shopping. She’s well-known around town for her personal style and her gorgeous handcrafted pieces. Floral pants are currently all the rage. Where did this trend begin? I’m gonna go out on a limb and say right here in our fair city of Portland, Maine. Need proof? Exhibit a and b from last spring. You’re welcome world!
Here’s my last piece of advice for you all if you haven’t already purchased a Mother’s Day gift. Swing by Black Parrot and buy your Mama a pair of Soludos: comfier than her slippers (and far chicer), these will be her go-to’s for summer. And such a sweet alternative to those fit-flops.
And any excuse to say hello to Fairbanks the dog is a bonus.
This Mainer recently left Manhattan to move back to his native land. He was dressed in a plethora of pastels, though when I asked him if this attire was in honor of the Cinco celebrations, he admitted he always dresses this colorfully. A man in mint-colored jeans? Amen to that!
I can’t stop chuckling over the fact that “I’ll Have Another” was the horse that won the Kentucky Derby—on Cinco de Mayo no less. Speaking of having another, that is my excuse for only capturing one lady in her derby day finery on Saturday. I was too busy drinking margaritas.
