‘Tis the season for party skirts, bow ties and holiday plaids. I asked some of my favorite Portland bloggers to send in their favorite fashions for the festivities ahead to help out with outfit ideas for everything from formal affairs to a holiday brunch.

When I’m really excited about a good style spotting on the streets, I tend to stare someone down and start muttering “getthecameraready, getthecameraready” to Nate. It’s a bad habit and exactly how I behaved when I spotted Oscar. 

I inquired as to what he does for a living, assuming it’s gotta be something hip. He told me, “I dress like this for a living!” In reality, he’s Director of The Museum of African Culture (13 Brown Street). I was spot on about him having a cool job.

The summer short suit is a trend I hope the Portland guys pick up. I love everything about this outfit. The bowtie (he wears one everyday), the five-button vest, two pens in his front pocket and crisp, tailored shorts. Plus, he had hiking boots on his feet.
