Fresh faced and braving the cold, spotted on Middle Street.
Motorcycle jackets, Burberry vests and leather - oh my! When the leaves start to turn in Maine, a plethora of knits, layers, and cold weather accessories (which we’ll be featuring on Monday) are on the streets. The crisp evenings require a sensible outerwear ensemble. These casual career folks were walking around Monument Square (a Starbucks in his hand, an orchid in her hand) and we stopped them to inquire about their accoutrements.
She, a Bay area native who has lived in Maine for seven years, wore a slim fitting motorcycle jacket. We’ve seen these all over Portland, from vintage steals at Find to jackets by Shoshanna at Chantal.
He, a Belfast native, layered a cozy Burberry vest over a purple hooded henley. We loved his Cole Haan loafers that he’s “broken in over the years.” He was also sporting a very manly rifle necklace by friend Leslie Shershow… a genuine Maine statement piece.
We spotted and immediately hearted this senior at MECA (a photography major, so no pressure to get a good shot or anything). She understands the importance of lightweight layering.
Her cerulean tunic paired with a flowy skirt atop leggings was the perfect summer wardrobe, keeping her comfy in case the temperature dips. We especially loved that buttery leather saddlebag, a fabulously versatile piece that will continue to look good way past her college years.
Also of note: her bold red accessories- feather earrings from H&M and a chunky beaded bracelet.
