Floral pants are currently all the rage. Where did this trend begin? I’m gonna go out on a limb and say right here in our fair city of Portland, Maine. Need proof? Exhibit a and b from last spring. You’re welcome world! 

Count us in on the chain gang

If you take your cues from Helmut Lang or Alexander Wang, you no doubt appreciate an edgy black palette – the perfect backdrop for dramatic jewelry we found on a quick trip down Exchange Street. 

We found very affordable chunky brass chains to layer with abandon at our first stop, Motifs. This shop is quickly becoming one of our favorites with its amazing selection of costume jewelry and striking fashion picks. (Not to mention a great selection of greeting cards  – we never leave without one.) 

Across the street at Wyler’s, we couldn’t ignore black and red bobbles that caught the light or a wide, stretchy copper-toned bracelet to flash as we sip a glass. 

We detoured down Middle Street and finally found our piece de resistance at Black Parrot: Delicate links for neck or wrist, wrapped in the softest yarns. A little tough or simply sweet?

 Let’s keep them guessing.
